An Energy Audit or Review is an investigation of all facets of an organisation’s historical and current energy use with the objective of identifying and quantifying areas of energy wastage within the organisation’s activities. Energy Audit involves taking inventory of energy consumption, and energy expenditure with the goal to identify opportunities to minimize energy wastage, and in turn energy expenditure.
In order to help promote this standard, NCEEC is in active collaboration with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) for capacity building programmes in Energy Audit. With a pool of qualified personnel, equipment and facilities for energy consumption monitoring, and electric power quality analysis, the centre has helped several organizations to conduct energy audits for their facilities with the aim of cutting down on energy costs.
